This project has successfully transcended the theoretical boundaries of Multi-Agent Systems to deliver a fully functional, resilient, and secure Proof of Concept (PoC). We have demonstrated that mobile agents are not merely an academic curiosity but a powerful architectural pattern for modern cybersecurity. The system currently stands as a robust defense platform capable of autonomously mitigating resource exhaustion attacks within seconds.

12.2. achievements

The success of this project rests on three strategic pillars:

• The “Scout-Killer” Architecture: We proved the superiority of decoupling monitoring from remediation. By keeping LocalAgents lightweight and deploying ScoutAgents only on-demand, we achieved deep forensic visibility while maintaining a system overhead of less than 0.1% CPU.
• Security by Design: Recognizing the vulnerabilities of legacy protocols, we successfully integrated WireGuard to create an encrypted overlay network. This ensures that our agent traffic is invisible to network sniffers, meeting modern “Zero-Trust” standards.
• Analytical Abstraction: The decision to abstract correlation logic away from the Java agents and into a SQL/Web Layer was decisive. It enabled the creation of a sophisticated Forensics Dashboard capable of detecting complex, multi-node attack patterns (like worm propagation) that isolated agents would miss.
