Challenges Writeups

The Ctrl Cure CTF 2025, held on July 19th, was a collaborative effort between Securinets INSAT and ISI, blending cybersecurity with rich cultural and thematic elements. This year’s edition stood out with its medical and Amazigh-inspired design, offering participants a unique mix of technical puzzles and creative storytelling.

I contributed three forensics challenges, arranged in increasing difficulty:

  • Weird Doctor – an introductory network forensics task centered around Wireshark basics
  • Tagrawla – a more advanced challenge exploring DNS exfiltration techniques
  • Amazigh Knew Binary – a creative twist on encoding a message using packet timestamps

Each challenge was designed to reflect both the technical depth of digital forensics and the cultural themes of the CTF. What follows is a breakdown of the challenges and their respective solutions.
